Another week of crazy in which it becomes apparent that there are quite a few teams this year that aren't doing what they did last year.

Case in point: Buffalo Bills. I know I called them "the other Cleveland". Now they're riding high, atop the AFC East. This is an exciting, if difficult to predict, season.

Sad to see my local team struggling on offense. Looks like more than one team decided to shore up its run defense, so Dak better learn how to throw to Dez, and soon.

On the PAC-12 front Washington and Washington State are both 5-0. If they keep it up it will make for an interesting Apple Cup.

I read "Apple Cup" and thought of a logo'd championship before I made the connection between Washington and actual, for-reals, chomp them crunchy fruits, *apples*.

Tampa v New England last night was waaaaaaay too close. Tampa was essentially beating itself with 3 missed FGs and some pretty sloppy offense, but the Patriots were right back in the mess by giving away yards in penalties, letting Brady get knocked around because of a porous offensive line, and some uncoordinated plays of their own. Patriots should have been in command of the situation last night, according to preseason expectations. They weren't and that's why there needs to be a serious review of the situation back in Foxboro.

Tampa Bay needs to do something about the kicker. Right now, those 9 points he missed put him in serious contention for Worst of the Week.

Aaron Rodgers has made a pact with the devil. I swear, he's made a pact with the devil. They were down, with just over a minute left in the game. You'd think they were beat...

Another week of crappy pics in the pool,  one thing to I learned this about football in the last round of pics, is expect the unexpected.
I did try to pick some upsets, good on some not so good on others.

I also thought it was going to be a week of upsets. Turns out, it wasn't the upsets I picked... Pittsburgh, Rams, and Titans really let everyone down.

Most of this week's matchups look pretty clear-cut. I hope it makes up for my disaster week 5 picks.

your literal 5 correct picks...   expect the unexpected.  I still think there are some close games with the possibility of upset.

Dammit, Carolina! You were the favorite! You were on a hot streak!

The week begins with advantage: Ristau.  :not_worthy:

I was watching the curly W's lose the final game of their series against the Cubs.  I can now focus more on football this month

Oh no here we go into another week of upsets... Aaron Rodgers is out for the season with a collarbone injury. Jets are knocking on New England's door. CHICAGO IS ACTUALLY WINNING.

Out of the first 12 games, I got 4 right and Ristau picked 5... we both picked the Broncos to beat the Giants, and the 0-5 Giants are LEADING the 3-1 Broncos with a score of 17-3 in the 3rd Quarter!

There goes my theory about things getting more predictable...

I'm not the only one having fits. Quoth Peter King of MMQB:

Usually, six weeks into the season, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s what in the NFL. After six weeks: New England was the best team in the AFC last year and went on to win the Super Bowl; Denver and Carolina were unbeaten in 2015 and went on to meet in the Super Bowl; Seattle and Denver were a combined 11-1 in 2013, and they met in the big one.

This year? If Week 6 records mean the most, it looks like Alex Smith and Carson Wentz meeting in the Super Bowl in Minnesota in 16 weeks.

This season is just plain weird.
