Forum Lobby / Re: What Are Your Meetings Like?
February 21, 2021, 09:44:49 AM
Since I just changed jobs my meeting changes are more around the types of company differences. My last job was almost nothing but meetings in the global enterprise space and were all hours of the day and night. Now working for a DoD contractor my meeting schedule is much lighter and all on US time zones which is nice.

From my experience with large environments DHCP + DNS is your friend.

If you have a QB you are doing better than Denver.

FS.com modules will work fine and way cheaper than official Cisco branded ones.

Certifications and Careers / Re: Which CCNP
November 05, 2020, 09:22:38 AM
In my current role I find myself in about a 50/50 split between Enterprise and Data Center work, so for today I would say it doesn't matter. I am more trying to think about "tomorrow" so to speak as I am not going to be getting both in the same year. Enterprise (R/S) does seem to be more popular, but from job postings it seems DC might be in more demand right now.

Certifications and Careers / Which CCNP
November 04, 2020, 09:19:27 PM
With all the Cisco cert changes my plans kind of got reset. I am now looking at whether to do CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center. I plan to eventually hold both but my question is which do you think is better to do first. Does one demand higher market value?

That's interesting = Did you even attempt basic troubleshooting before bugging me about your issue?

I concur. When I was in consulting about 70% of our clients were law firms and yes to everything ristau just said.

Not a push but a mandate. If fiber is a choice it is the choice so to speak. The only exception to this is management interfaces where fiber is rarely a choice anyway.

We have moved our data centers to as much fiber as possible. Multiple advantages over copper. We do however still support copper when required.

I ran across this article today and to be honest I felt it to be a bit harsh. I personally have never been in a contract-to-hire situation so I can't really agree or disagree with the article on personal experience. On the surface I do however think that contract-to-hire is intended to be heavily weighted in the employers favor.
