Like "quiet quitting", but you still like your job. You just don't disclose where you are when remote...  ::)

I am remote every day. Have to account for every minute in my Weekly Activity Report.

C:-)

Well every 6 Minutes as we bill in the thenths of an hour

I always say cloud=bad, giving up security controls to a third party is bad bad bad, especially without an iron clad out. I BET there are going to be alot of law suits.  even today

Getting tired of working firewall CIS compliance for over 200 firewalls, I've been at it for years. Yes it's a slow process with change management, but now that one of the team members left I've been tasked with firewall refresh,  standing up new hardware in parallel and migrating VLANs from the old ASA 5585 firewall to the new 4100 Running ASA. Still not quite to the FTD yet. had a 10 hour maintenance last weekend moving some 50 or so VLANs from one firewall to another updating routes and ACL's. but that's what I've been up to.

not necessarily, but you need motivation to find documents about these subjects. otherwise without motivation you will not learn these subjects.

Just search your favorite search engine for the topics mentioned

like this. I searched ospf dr and bdr elections

Understand Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) - Design Guide
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/open-shortest-path-first-ospf/7039-1.html

as for books, I would recommend
Cisco Press - CCIE Professional Development Routing TCPIP, Volume I.

you can find it online somewhere if you look hard enough.

Data breach exposes American Express credit cards

American Express is warning card members of a third-party data breach. Several other companies that use the hacked merchant processor could also be affected. Exposed American Express Card member data includes account numbers, names, and expiration dates. If exploited, cybercriminals can use this information to commit identity theft.

in internal device is setup to provide those updates. and the clients on the secure network go to the internal device for those updates.
like for windows, one could use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

Quote from: Otanx on March 04, 2024, 05:58:10 PMI don't even want to think of changing wireless at my house. Figuring out all the IOT items that need to be updated with the new SSID and password would be a pain. Last time I updated I configured the new to match the old, and crossed my fingers.

just a couple of cell phones here, a few laptops, and a printer.  I did forget my work laptop, as I didn't work yesterday.

I went and bought a ASUS RT-AX86U Pro to replace my NetGear WAC104, I have them both running together until I get my wife and daugther to move over to the new network, then I will take out the Cisco 2950-12 and ASA5525 Firewall, and the WAC104, I could also probably pull out my Cisco 3550 also, and go 100% wireless with the  RT-AX86U connected directly to the cable modem.
