Title: f5 networks
Post by: dipenshah on May 15, 2016, 09:03:34 AM

I have googled a lot to understand what f5 networks as a company do.

What I know: f5 is a company which has its own hardware and software integrated together and they provide an integrated solution for their customers. They have their own product called BIG-IP and platform where in one can control f5 devices i.e. more inclined towards SDN (having application controllers). Also, since they are in middle of data delivery they do a good job as far as security is concerned.

f5 calls its BIG-IP a layer 4-7 device? Can someone please explain me at packet level what exactly f5 devices do and a bit about the company from a networking engineers perspective :)

Shameless link to my own blog: https://reggle.wordpress.com/2013/12/19/introduction-to-f5-network-appliances/

Let me know if that answers the question. If not, my blog wasn't good ;)
