Title: Contract Network Security Role in Fort Worth, TX
Post by: deanwebb on January 22, 2015, 02:22:22 PM
Job description: contract, it's in Fort Worth, you get to be my backfill so I can have my soul crushed by project managers and their project timescales.

Job responsibilities will include fixing up rules on firewalls, telling end users it's not the firewall, and getting to touch lots of cool security stuff. It's a great environment, but, yeah, you will be a contract employee.

If interested, let me know in a PM.

Let me add that even if you think you only have a little bit of security knowledge, you've got a shot. Just call in for the phone interview, and you'll already be ahead of all the no-shows.

Seriously, if you think you're not qualified, TRY ME. Send in that resume and we will not reject any reasonable offer. The DFW area needs security people, and if you want to be one of them, this is where you start. Even if you just want to get into security, PM me and I'll talk about how to get me your resume, and we'll go from there. If you can spell TCP/IP, show up sober, and be a likeable enough guy, you might just be able to beat out the competition.

If I wasn't in the middle east I would give this a shot in a heartbeat. Best of luck finding someone.

Hiring Manager: Please tell me what you know about TCP/IP?

Interviewee: I, undunoo 'bout seein' T pee, but I con show yoh howh I pee...(stands up and walks to the trash can)

No required certs, but CCNP or equivalent is good. If you've touched firewalls before, that's a good thing. It is a mid-level position, and we actually had someone with a few years' experience call in, so that ups the game. Still, if you've got solid R&S and you want to get into security, this could be something where you have a chance.
