Title: Tis the sesson for new jerbs!
Post by: that1guy15 on June 21, 2017, 12:41:38 PM
Turned in my notice today. Accepted a new job with the network automation startup Apstra.

Never been on the vendor side or a startup. So here we go!

Will spend alot of time and focus on helping customers automate their DC fabrics along with some dev work. Continuing to keep the pressure on building my dev and automation skills.

I like my cartoon better. Less stuff that makes Hank Hill shake his head at.

Not to jump right into being all sales-ie. you need to check out the Telemetry stuff they just announce coming in 1.2. Its some cool stuff. Im really excited to see how this plays out for Apstra.

Which you bring a good point too. I guess I need to get a new passport.

I wouldn't want to be the guy who works out how to parse multi-vendor telemetry into your splunk or whatever backend! Worst python / regex exercise ever. LOL

Kinda hard to orchestrate multi vendor without being friends... Then again arista hangs it's hat on open API

Truth... even for different companies that don't have histories... On a separate but related note, I think this is where a lot of vendors are missing the target... could be so much "better together" (Microsoft?) ... but everyone's too focused on their own slice of the pie to really work together like they should (even when two companies compliment and don't compete).. it's kind of unfortunate.  It takes an ongoing, lasting relationship and ongoing, continual development between two companies.. and that seems hard to pull off - especially over time if the joint solution doesn't immediately start raking in $$$ for one or the other.
