Want the job? Tell the manager you want to get married![html]
In the January 9, 2018 Ask The Headhunter Newsletter, a reader who is “killing the interviews” still can’t get a job offer. What’s the secret?
No links here if you care (normally you have links for these sites)
Man, this blog is so inconsistent with its links... however, this looks like a good one, so...

And it is great advice in this one, too. If you want the job, SAY THAT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE YOU ARE INTERVIEWING WITH. Do not drop a hint. Say, "I really like this opportunity. I want this job." Just like that. Several times, if you must.
There's another book I read where this advice was repeated. It was from 50 years ago, but it was true then as it is now. That author went further to say that when you want just any job, you apply everywhere. When you want one particular job, you apply once and put everything you have into that interview.
That is what I did with my current role. I wanted a job with this vendor, so I didn't send out an application anywhere else because this was the job I wanted. Another vendor reached out to me and made a really good offer, but the one I took was better because it was the one I wanted. I said as much when I interviewed. "I want this job and I'm not applying anywhere else, because if I got a job somewhere else, I wouldn't be working here."
