Title: Cisco Mobility Express AP's and other Cisco LWAP (non ME) joining the ME WLC?
Post by: Dieselboy on June 26, 2019, 08:53:26 PM
Just deployed a ME set up with 5 APs. Have some spare Lightweight 1602 APs. Wondering if it's possible to join them to the vWLC inside the 1850 AP.

Anyone know? I've not tried to, yet.

Yes, that should be possible as long as the ME is running a version that still supports the x600 series.

Thanks Simon!
Just reading the release notes for 8.9 and noticed a 'subordinate AP' section. It does not list the 1600 series but I mean as long as it's CAPWAP (which it is) I think it may work...
Just checked the release notes for 8.5 and it does list the 1600 :)

I usually use this page for compatibility checks: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html
