We all know HR is overhead, and expensive, but this AI thing has to go.  If a boycott movement were started to not participate, the companies would have no applicants, therefore would drop the AI thing like a hot potato.

Exactly. When they don't get results from a thing, then it doesn't matter how cheap it is.
