I re-started my IT career using TekSystems. They were not great jobs, sometimes they were barley even IT jobs, but it kept the bills paid, and got my name out there. They never did get me a full time job, but I got my first network engineering job from contacts I made doing those short gigs.

I see them as a door, but not the destination.
Never had any luck with teksystems, they were always too much looking for an exact match, nothing for someone with lesser experience to grow into.
had several FTF with recruiters (make sure I don't have face tatoos, or wearing birks and a tyedye, and am presentable). never had an interview through them.
I get hit up by Teksystems and CBTS all the time, however it is normally contract work and I am a little leary of leaving an FTE role for a contract gig.

it's not too bad as long as you get with a company that is in the business and wins contracts frequently. There are always new opportunities.
I understand the FTE role, comfortable, but not much new opportunity.
OTOH, FTE with a vendor has comfort and opportunity, but you be also getting opportunities to see some real messes at some customer sites...
