Title: Need help
Post by: macamb on February 10, 2022, 03:24:19 PM
Hello guys what's up?

I am trying to connect my ftth router to a poe smart Switch 16 port hikvision

I have 7 uap ac lite connected to a poe smart Switch and an Ethernet cable connected from my ffth router to a poe smart Switch to provide the internet to all uaps .

The problem is it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't  and when it doesn't work the Switch and a router has no led blinking and no activity on both sides lan poe and Router.

When i directly connect to WiFi router or via lan connect to pc lan it works.

Sometimes rebooting the router it will work but only for a 10 to 15 min and sometimes it will just stays for ever.

Here is my settings:

Poe smart switch: Hikvision poe Smart Switch 16 port

Ip address:192.168.1.64

Subnet mask:255.255.255.0

Gateway:192.168.1.1

My main router: Model FTTH(GBON ONU) Fiber optic.

IP: Auto DHCP Server

Subnet mask:255.255.255.0

Gateway:192.168.1.1

I attached my setup and a pic of my router

Is that a fibre connection between the router and the Hikvision switch, or an ethernet one? If fibre, maybe it's not set properly? Also, what kind of router is it?

I recommend doing some hardware diagnostics on the equipment. If the wireless never goes down, then it's likely you have a faulty router that needs to be replaced.

But my both nvr are connected both working normally and also my ip camera working fine even if i connected directly from router to laptop via LAN cable.
Its only from router to Switch.

Definitely want to see the logs on the router and the switch as the ports go down. Most likely the router, but I would look at both just in case. Likely you have a physical layer issue going on there.

I uave tried a different poe switch but with the same results.
But i have noticed that my unifi uap are wired to poe switch and uplink wireless monitor is enabled.
I think I should turn off that features but not sure if this will cause the port to go down

Going back to the original post, I have to ask for some clarification about what is not working when it's not working. Is the entire network down, just parts, or what? Please be specific here, as that can help us find the solution.

How many ports are available for LAN connection on the router?
