Title: Apple's Address Today
Post by: routerdork on September 09, 2015, 11:25:52 AM
Anyone watching this today or hoping for them to release something? I bought an iPad about 4 years ago and have found that I do most things on it now. It's time to trade-up so I'm hoping for a new model to be released. I've never watched one of these events though so I thought I might tune in today and see what it was all about. Kinda sad I missed it when Jobs did it.

My reaction on seeing the thread title:

"What, Apple is using DHCP for their web server IP?"

Hehe they use DHCP with NAT so as to be extra secure probably have a sweet Belkin router setup too.

Apple announced the iPad Pro which seems mainly aimed at business. So I guess its either look at the iPad Mini 4 or go with the iPad Air 2. It is seriously sick how much I am on that darn thing. I get so much reading and research done though it's insane.

I still most of my reading and research on my laptop. I guess I'm old school that way.

I must be older school than you. I do most research and tech reading on my desktop. Leisure reading is the kindle app on my iPad2. Now I have to decide if I want to go with the Pro, Air2, or stick with my busted up one for six more months to see what they do next.

I've decided to keep an eye out for a deal on an Air 2 and then pass it on to the GF if they ever update it to a newer model. This new iPad Pro seems to be really focused on competing with the Surface Pro. So I'm wondering if they will start staggering refreshes like they do the Mac's. I currently have the 4th Gen iPad. After the iOS 8 update it slowed up a lot. I can only imagine what iOS 9 will be like next week  :barf:
