Title: Workin' Remote Thread
Post by: deanwebb on September 12, 2015, 08:53:50 AM
Here's the new conference room for my home office.

Summer is ending in Texas, which means I can finally go outside and not melt.

And, yes, that's the "M" key missing on my laptop. I can still type the letter, so no big deal. The umbrella will keep acorns from rolling into my laptop via that breach in the perimeter.

Lucky dude.

My current company is still set in the 80s. Evidently no one can be productive unless they are working from the office. So everyone (including salaried) must badge in once a day. Executive approval must be given to anyone needing to work from home even just one day.

I have been putting alot of pressure on our leadership to change this and they are trying but executives are old and set in their ways. Keeps getting shot down...

Enjoy the work from home dude!!

2 days a week, baby! Been doing that for a while, but with nice weather, I can work al fresco.

Really short commute, I tell you what. Also comes in handy when I have that 2am call to Singapore or the 6am conference with Prague.

I took this picture about a year ago or so.  My commute is 30ft from my bed to my office 4 days a week.

My personal laptop kept getting a bit hot due to too much dust on the heatsink inside. So instead of taking it apart and risk breaking it, my mate turned his air compressor on and we blew the crap out of it. Ever since then, my V, Z, and most of the number keys dont work unless you press hard enough to almost bend the laptop. Very annoying.

You're supposed to use short blasts of air from a can. ;P

Had a bug infestation so I left early yesterday and came home. So much quieter and easier to focus at home.

True dat, so long as I remember to mute my phone when traffic goes by while I'm on a call.
