Title: ARIN is offically out of IPs
Post by: dlots on September 24, 2015, 02:53:17 PM
https://www.arin.net/announcements/2015/20150924.html

"On 24 September 2015, ARIN issued the final IPv4 addresses in its free pool. ARIN will continue to process and approve requests for IPv4 address blocks.  Those approved requests may be fulfilled via the Wait List for Unmet IPv4 Requests, or through the IPv4 Transfer Market."

"In the future, any IPv4 address space that ARIN receives from IANA, or recovers from revocations or returns from organizations, will be used to satisfy approved requests on the Waiting List for Unmet Requests."

I want my ISP to provision a VLAN for IPv6 down our pipe. But they want to charge for it????
:zomgwtfbbq:

I can understand an admin fee to set it up, happy to pay for that. But we're already paying for internet.

Can't do dual-stack anymore. We're all out of IPv4. Pretty soon, bums will be raiding deserted buildings for unused IPv4 addresses, along with their usual raids for scrap metal and ketchup packets left in the fridge.

Gawhd, everyone is so stupid! I swear... All we have to do is either:
1) add a 5th octet or
2) open up the range 256-512/8

Duh its so simple. pull your head out sheeple
:awesome:

"How about this one?"

"No, it starts with a 10. Keep looking."

"OK... oh, hey, here's one that starts with 237!"

"That's a multicast address, you moron. Keep looking!"
