Errrhhhh merrrr geerrrd, I accepted a new gig yesterday and turned in my notice at my current jerb.  :joy:
Im leaving a very large hospital doing any and all Network focused projects and operations. New gig is in banking and Ill be focused on DC Infrastructure, DCI and WAN. Should be mostly project driven but Im sure there will be a fair amount of operations in there. Company is very bleeding edge and I could list a slew of amazing toys that I will get to work with! This gig will seriously fuel my career for a while.
On top of everything the gig is 95% work from home with only a handful of trips a year back to corporate.
Only downside is there is another CCIE (2xCCIE & some fancy VMWare cert to be exact) on staff and from talking with him his is kinda an ass.  ;)

But, hey, 95% remote with bank-financed toys is awesome!

Congrats on your new gig!
That double CCIE with VMware certs sounds quite awesome maybe some day I can be like him.

LOL burnyd got you a jerb! Congrats!

				Congrats!

BTW burnyd when are we going to see VCIX next to your name? :p
I was talking to some vmware (vendor) guys and they said that the VCIX labs are not much harder than the HOL scenarios - i.e. its NOTHING NEAR like a CCIE in complexity/diff. Basically they said if you can stand up a NSX from scratch you will pass....

Not to thread hijack but I have my vcix-nv.  I just have not updated my cert list.  I was one of the first people to pass that exam I think back in January?  It is not hard at all plus the passing score is like 50%.  The VCDX I will go for once I get dates for the 2016 defence.

				Congrats!

Congrats! I accepted mine on Friday too. Giving notice today.
