Title: I CAN FIX EVERYTHING!
Post by: deanwebb on December 19, 2015, 04:30:10 PM
Not just network stuff, either!

I just fixed my toilet by fixing the seal on the flapper. Cost me $1.79 for the Vaseline and about 10 minutes of watching and applying knowledge from YouTube videos.

:badass: Dass rite. Now I'mma pay dem bills!

Never mind... the interface started flapping again... I need to replace the dang flapper... does make me kinda glad, though, that network devices don't involve sewage, unless they're internet pipes...

Anyone know what a flapper is?

It's the rubber thing that stops water from flowing out of the tank into the toilet bowl. In it's its down state, the flapper keeps water in the tank. When you flush the handle, the flapper is brought up by being attached to the flusher handle by a long metal chain and allows water to exit the tank into the bowl to aid in removing bodily excretions from the bowl area as the toilet flushes.

When it's open, it's a preferred default route for the water. 8)

"The port kept flapping."
"What was the root cause?"
"Someone was playing 'The Charleston' in the telecom closet."
