Title: They always blame the network...
Post by: ChestHair on January 25, 2016, 09:54:40 PM

I would be more likely to believe Microsoft's press release if Belichick hadn't said "It's a pretty common problem... we've had it at home, we've had it on the road. Other teams have had it. It's a fairly common problem."

:developers:

It affected viewing still photos... did it affect other functions related to network usage? If they got email or video or ANYTHING ELSE, then it wasn't the network... unless it's using TCP/IP for all those other functions and bonjour for the picture sharing.

Now, NFL said the problem was resolved by going over to a wired solution. Riiiiiiight. Where are the ethernet ports on that turf, I'd like to know.

Yea Microsoft saying there hasn't been any problems all season is a steaming pile of dung. I love how they said if there were any problems this season they were network related. Of course because every issue is network related. The other day I left the biscuits in the oven too long and burned them, without a doubt that was the networks fault lol.

Wow.  The entire  force of the Microsoft marketing department and all of the NFL's IT and they couldn't come up with anything better?  than that?  I should go work for them, I can at least blame a firewall.

Lol.... this makes me want to find that Obama meme where he's drinking a soda and it says "Just stopped by to see who thinks this is my fault", and replace his head with an RJ-45 ;P

To be completely fair, stadium wireless is a bit of a beast. No doubt individual team wireless would be even more beastly due to security/segregation. We have a team working on a stadium wireless deployment right now and some of the multicast crap they have to deal with is ridiculous and specialised (hint: there's two - a standard PIM-SM network, and this super specialised one for the actual video streams that sounds a bit like anycast RP but on steroids, can't remember its name). Plus the radio work on thousands of APs alone.

Ya know I just had a thought. Since the Patriots cheat in every way possible they probably have a team of hackers at the games disguised as ball boys whose sole job is to hack the systems of the other team and steal their plays. But alas it would still be the networks fault hahaha...

That's as well as Cisco and their modules crashing due to soft parity errors due to some "environmental condition" that caused a bit to flip.
