https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/647647/pxe-e55-proxydhcp-service-did-not-reply-to-request has good info on your question.

First thing to try would be having the IP of the PXE server listed as an IP Helper (DHCP relay) in the config on the router.

Hello
Here is the Scenario
I have LAN at my organization with Mikrotik router as a NAT and fire wall device.
I have also deployed windows 2019 server in the same LAN as a wds server with DHCP service disabled.
I want client computer to use wds services for remote windows installation.
The client PCs get DHCP IP from the MIKROTIK router in LAN.

The problem is when I PXE boot the client PC, though it gets IP from mikrotik but after some times comes up with the message "proxy dhcp server did not reply to request on port 4011".

It is also to mention that I have created a VM on the host server 2019 with networking settings set to bridged mode, that VM works well gets same LAN IP and communicates with wds server finely as contrary to the physical machine.

Just had some CyberArk pre-sales certs added to my to-do list. Knocking out the 5th of 5 hopefully today. They're pretty painless, kind of like annual security awareness videos in terms of the ease of the certification exam.

Let me know before you take the PCNSE, I took that last year with my PCNSA. Definitely reading through the Admin Guide was a huge help on that exam.

Had my 3 year renewal on my CISSP last month. Finished all the CPE stuff about a month early, paid the fee, and get to start CPEs all over again. Also have CCNP renewal coming up. Cisco Live should cover the CPE I need for that. Cisco finally opened the scheduling for Cisco Live last week and I got my week planned out. Need to count the expected CPEs to make sure it will cover and maybe change classes around to get enough credits. I am also going to try the CCNA level DevNet cert exam while I am there. Other than that I might end up getting the PCNSE. We do a lot more Palo these days so might just go take the exam.

Certifications and Careers / Certification Goals for 2023

Dang, it's April, but at least I'm starting the thread!

I picked up my Eggplant certifications, level 1 and 2, and have appeased the vendor gods... for now...  :smug:

(Eggplant is a software GUI testing suite that has nothing really to do with networking, but we sell it, so I needed to get certified in it. Lots of programming stuff, but their code is easy to read and figure out, so it's all good. :D )

Now on to ServiceNOW CSA training... that's the next one I need to knock down. All these security vendors hook into SNOW, and I need to be able to both run our SNOW instances for those integrations and to talk about them intelligently with our customers.

Are you using the onboard LAN nic or is it a PCI nic?

Check the specs of your system. Maybe the nic you're using is actually a ethernet to usb interface or something like that. If you have multiple nics, then maybe one is able to get higher throughput because of how or where it physically connects to internally on the system board.

Try disabling stuff that runs by using autoruns   formerly from sysinternals..
You can disable by unclicking a checkbox for what ever you want... and then reclick everything you disabled before to return to normal.
Since hardware doesn't seem to be an issue try looking for a software issue.

Good call on hunting down autorun programs.

If you got a buddy with a laptop, have them bring it on over and see what the speeds are like with it.

If they're like your PC, maybe your wife's PC is just lucky.

If they're like your wife's PC, maybe you got a lemon or something...

But the issue I'm convinced is in the software of the PC, as the upload speed is no problem at all and it's just download that's crap. Short of doing a fresh install, having a friend with a laptop do a quick test is faster and gets almost the same results without having to go through the mess of a rebuild.
